So this is what it's all come to. We're watching (and enjoying) tribute videos to tribute videos.
This video by Ian Parker is an homage to a YouTube mashup set to the song Lisztomania by the French alternative band Phoenix.
Thing is, you don't need to know all that. It also just happens to a beautifully shot and infectious video of a bunch of friends having fun.
Phoenix started as the backing band for a remix of Air's "Kelly Watch the Stars" single. Soon after, Phoenix released their 2000 debut album United. The name Phoenix was officially chosen in 1996 when Laurent Brancowitz permanently joined the band after the end of the short-lived band Darlin' he formed with Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo, who eventually became Daft Punk.
